It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following activities will be occurring for Field Day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>STX<\/strong> &#8211; 22 June 2019 morning to 23 June 2019 afternoon &#8211; Operation &amp; Public Outreach &#8211; Fredriksted Pier<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>STT <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>22 June 2019 morning &amp; afternoon &#8211; Public outreach at Tutu Park Mall<\/li><li>23 June morning &amp; early afternoon &#8211; Field operation from Fortuna Fire Station<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>STJ<\/strong> &#8211; 22 June 2019 morning to 23 June 2019 afternoon &#8211; Operation &amp; Public Outreach &#8211; National Park Service HQ, Downtown Cruz Bay<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.vihamradio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/FDVirginIslands.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Field Day is ham radio&#8217;s open house.
