STUDY APPS / SITES

When studying for amateur FCC license exams, the questions are taken from a large pool of questions.  (Generally a few hundred questions)  All questions on every exam are contained within the question pools and numerical values (and answers) for questions requiring calculations are identical to those in the question pools.

Passing grade for all licenses is 74 percent correct.  Conventional wisdom says that if you are consistently scoring in the 80-90 percent range on the practice tests, you’ll most likely pass the class of license you are studying for.

If you are the type who likes to hard copy study guide, there are a number of sources to obtain them:

Amazon is also another good source to find hard copy study guides.

If you’d rather have soft copies of study materials, here are a few links to apps / programs to assist you in the learning process.  It’s also a good idea to test using multiple apps / websites to ensure you are not using a biased sample test.

We apologize in advance if some of the links are outdated, however we can’t monitor every time other change their websites.

This one is really good as it focuses on the correct answers.  It also lets the user create a custom tests that focuses on the ‘elements’ where the student needs additional study. (as indicated by previous test scores)  We are also told that it doesn’t contain then entire question pool for some classes of licenses.
